Kathy Woody is a Managing Director and Strategy Lead for Critical Minerals with Azimuth and a Ph.D. chemist with 15+ years of experience in technology development, business development and project leadership at major energy companies. Kathy’s responsibilities include development of critical minerals strategy, technology evaluation, and CEO of Azimuth minerals platform.
Previously, Kathy served as Principal Advisor of Energy Technology at Hess Corporation, as the executive leader responsible for energy transition and emissions reduction technologies. At Hess, Kathy led technology selection and implementation of large-scale projects designed to enhance sustainability and reduce the carbon footprint of operations.
Prior to joining Hess, Kathy was the Director of Energy Technology for the Phillips 66 Emerging Energy business unit, responsible for leading energy transition technology investments. She also spent over 10 years as a director in Phillips 66 Research and Development leading technical programs focused on Energy Transition, including cutting-edge research in battery materials, solid oxide fuel cells, and solar technology. She holds over 40 patents and has numerous technical publications.
Kathy has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Chemistry from University of Kentucky.
