Private Equity Student Analyst

Azimuth is seeking a Student Analyst for an 8-month term working in the Calgary office starting January 2025. A career in Private Equity is challenging, fast-paced and rewarding. The successful candidate will work directly with members of the investment team gaining an in-depth understanding of the energy sector as well as the financial and operational learnings of growing energy companies.

Job Description

  • Broad industry analysis and financial modeling
  • Updating and maintaining the company’s energy sector databases
  • Evaluating potential portfolio investments
  • Supporting operations and reporting responsibilities of the investment platform
  • Collecting and analyzing company-specific financial and operating information
  • Monitoring portfolio investments
  • Various ad-hoc initiatives and data gathering

Qualifications

  • Working toward or recently completed a degree in finance, economics, or engineering
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable energy technologies and infrastructure
  • Prior work experience in energy and/or energy transition would be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Advanced presentation preparation and financial modeling skills – strong command of the
    Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Handles diverse responsibilities and meets deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and motivation
