Azimuth is seeking two Student Analysts for an 8–12-month term working in the Calgary office starting May 2026 and September 2026. A career in Private Equity is challenging, fast-paced and rewarding. The successful candidate will work directly with members of the investment team gaining an in-depth understanding of the energy sector as well as the financial and operational learnings of growing energy companies.
Job Description
- Broad industry analysis and financial modeling
- Updating and maintaining the company’s energy sector databases
- Evaluating potential portfolio investments
- Supporting operations and reporting responsibilities of the investment platform
- Collecting and analyzing company-specific financial and operating information
- Monitoring portfolio investments
- Various ad-hoc initiatives and data gathering
Qualifications
- Working toward or recently completed a degree in finance, economics, or engineering
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable energy technologies and infrastructure
- Prior work experience in energy and/or energy transition would be considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and critical thinking abilities
- Advanced presentation preparation and financial modeling skills – strong command of the
Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel - Handles diverse responsibilities and meets deadlines
- Strong work ethic and motivation
