Sabine is a Principal with the Firm. Her mandate spans Azimuth and PureVolt Energy Systems, with a focus on commercial development. She also leads the development of Azimuth’s biodiversity and nature focus. Prior to joining Azimuth, Sabine spent close to a decade at Shell and Shell Ventures, most recently as an Investment Principal in Boston focused on originating and structuring venture investments in renewable energy marketplaces and energy transition software, and before that building and leading Shell’s global blockchain and web3 team. Among others, her expertise includes power, carbon, biodiversity, systems thinking, venture capital and digital technology (AI and web3).
Sabine is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Ecosystems at Harvard, centered on nature positive funding mechanisms and regenerative economics. She also holds a master’s degree in Information and Network Economics from Maastricht University, graduated cum laude.
Outside of work, Sabine enjoys thru hiking in the mountains and swimming, and spending time in South Africa where she grew up. You can speak to Sabine in Dutch and English.
