Jose is an Associate with the Firm. Prior to joining Azimuth Capital Management, Jose worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Barclays’ Energy Transition Group, covering conventional energy and energy transition technology and infrastructure companies. In his time at Barclays, Jose gained broad experience in various energy and transition subsectors, including upstream, midstream, sustainable fuels, carbon markets, and energy storage. Prior to Barclays, Jose worked at Bluesky Equities in Calgary, where he spent a summer analyzing public equity investments.
Jose holds a dual Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Science degree with specializations in Finance and Computer Science from the University of Calgary. During his time at university, Jose was an Investment Manager for the Calgary Portfolio Management Trust (CPMT), a ~C$800,000 student-run public equities fund. At CPMT, Jose covered the Energy, Real Estate, and Healthcare sectors. Jose’s academic career also included time spent as a Research Assistant studying various Decentralized Finance technologies under professors at the Haskayne School of Business.
In his spare time, Jose enjoys playing guitar, exploring the Alberta Rocky Mountains, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
